1:1 courses are the perfect opportunity to have specific coaching all to yourself. After an initial assessment, the skills covered will be tailored to suit you, whilst setting out to achieve your own personal goals.

One to one coaching also gives you the option of working on your particular problems and difficulties for as long as you wish. So if you’re lacking confidence on certain trails or having trouble with specific technical skills then why not book a private 1:1 coaching session. These courses are tailored specifically to suit your level of fitness and technical ability.

Introduction to mountain biking – half day

beginners

You will learn the basic skills needed to safely ride off-road including bike check and set up, correct body positioning, selecting the right gears and correct use of the brakes.

Is this course right for me? No previous experience is required. You are probably a complete beginner.

Fundamentals – half day

On this course you can learn the fundamental bike handling and core skills needed to tackle more technical off-road trails with confidence including mountain bike setup, correct body positioning, cornering and descending safely and how to climb efficiently.

Is this course right for me? This course is ideal for beginners who are looking to gain confidence or you may be returning to mountain biking after a break.

On this course I combine the introduction to mountain biking and fundamentals half day courses into a full day and also include a guided ride with coaching points.

You can learn the fundamental bike handling and core skills needed to tackle technical off-road trails with confidence, individual mountain bike setup, correct body positioning, cornering and descending safely and how to climb efficiently.

Is this course right for me? This course is ideal for beginners who are looking to gain confidence or you may be returning to mountain biking after a break.

Improvers cornering – half day

This course is for those looking to take their cornering skills to the next level. Learn how to corner with more speed and negotiate tighter turns and berms.

Is this course right for me? You have some experience of riding off-road.

Improvers descending and climbing – half day

This course is for those looking to take their descending and climbing skills to the next level. Learn how to descend steeper, rougher or looser trails and with more speed. Learn how to climb steeper and rougher trails with roots and step ups.

Is this course right for me? You have some experience of riding off-road.

Improvers cornering, descending and climbing – full day

On this course I combine the improvers cornering, descending and climbing half day courses into a full day and also include a guided ride with coaching points.

This course is for those looking to take their cornering, descending and climbing skills to the next level. Learn how to corner with more speed and negotiate tighter turns and berms, how to descend steeper, rougher or looser trails and with more speed and how to climb steeper and rougher trails with roots and step ups.

Is this course right for me? You have some experience of riding off-road.

Introduction to drop offs, manuals and wheelies – half day

This course is for those looking to tackle small obstacles in the trail so that you don’t have to get off and walk. Learn how to lift the front wheel and safely negotiate small step ups and drop offs.

Is this course right for me? You have some experience of riding off-road.

Improvers drop offs, manuals and wheelies – half day

This course is designed to follow on from the introduction to drop offs. Tackle larger obstacles that you come across on the trails. Learn how to safely negotiate larger drop offs.

Is this course right for me? You are happy rolling off small drops and you now feel ready to go to the next level.

Women only courses

Come and start your journey into mountain biking or hone your skills with a qualified instructor in a testosterone free environment!

All of the above courses can be for women only

 

 

Important information…

Helmets are essential.

You need to bring your own mountain bike which must be in full working order, have off-road tyres and be mechanically sound. Front suspension and flat pedals are preferable but not essential.

Group size is normally limited to 6 participants.

Any of these courses can be extended to a full day by including a guided ride with coaching points at a competitive price.
